Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Have you discovered the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) yet? There are a host of well-researched physiological benefits as well as numerous other anecdotal benefits. Let’s look at some of the basics:

Every cell in our bodies runs on ATP as energy currency. Oxygen provides the fuel for ATP. When we give our bodies extra cellular fuel, we have more energy.

Damaged tissues require extra energy. This damage can be from injury, disease or normal aging.

Both acute and chronic inflammation require extra energy. Inflammation causes pain.

By infusing added oxygen to what our bodies naturally extract form room air, we can reap the benefits of increased energy, decreased inflammation and maximized healing.

HBOT treatment has become popular among professional athletes because of the rapid healing from injury.

Research is available about the physiologic benefits of HBOT in the following areas:

Protective roles in liver damage, Alzheimer’s disease, chronic lyme disease.

Reduces inflammatory pain, pain from nerve injury, inflammatory markers in the brain, and atherosclerosis.

HBOT has been shown to promote neurogenesis (new nerve growth), angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth), stimulates liver regeneration and  promoting muscle regeneration.

Quite remarkably HBOT will also increase in stem cell mobilization  by 800%.

We are finding amazing results with adding this powerful therapeutic into plans for patients with neurodegenerative disease (such as Parkinson’s, MS, chronic migraines), traumatic brain injuries (concussions, repeated head traumas- like heading the soccer ball), and Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD).
