Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine Practitioner-
Anne Carruth
Anne Carruth, MS, LAc, Dipl OM, holds a Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine and was awarded a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Though born and raised in Ohio, she earned her Masters degree in Denver, at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After completing her studies, and basking in the Colorado sun for eight years, Anne opted to be closer to family, and indulge in some northwest greenery. She joined Nature Cures Clinic in the spring of 2010, making her the most recent addition to the NCC team.
Anne’s philosophy on health and wellness is founded in preventative medicine and a holistic view of the body, mind, and spirit. She embraces the traditional Chinese model of treating the “branch” and the “root”; thus, treating one’s symptoms, as well as their underlying causes. This approach enables her to treat disorders ranging from pain, to gastrointestinal ailments, migraines, respiratory disorders, and gynecological issues. Additionally, Anne completed two years of study in Five Element acupuncture, a unique style of acupuncture concentrating on mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. She has a particular interest in emotional and stress-related disorders, including anxiety, depression, fatigue, irritable bowels, and insomnia.
As a classically trained Acupuncturist and Oriental Medicine Practitioner, Anne frequently incorporates adjunctive Chinese therapies into her acupuncture treatments, including gua sha, cupping, moxabustion, auricular needling, electrical stimulation, and herbal Chinese remedies. Moreover, she has a strong background in Western science, and believes that best results are often achieved when Eastern and Western medicine are used in concert. This allows her to collaborate comfortably with other practitioners to develop personalized treatment protocols to best suit each patient and their lifestyle. Her gentle needling technique and compassionate approach make her an ideal practitioner for those new to acupuncture, children, and more sensitive patients.
