Dr. Erika Siegel grew up in New Jersey, graduated Magna Cum laude in
Psychology from Tulane University, and then moved out west to pursue her
passion in medicine. While in California taking pre-medical classes, she
was introduced to alternative lifestyles and Naturopathic medicine. Her
course quickly changed from conventional medicine with her desire to be more
than just a doctor, but a healer. Over the next six years, she received a
doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Masters in Chinese Medicine from the
National College of Naturopathic Medicine. Originally moving to Portland for
schooling, she quickly fell in love with this area and has made it her home.
Dr. Siegel believes strongly that the body has an inherent ability to heal.
Her goal is to be a facilitator to that healing process, using a multitude
of effective therapeutics. She works along side her patients, encouraging
them to take an active role in their health. Maintaining the balance of
mind, body and spirit are the roots of Dr. Siegel's philosophy. Prevention
is the cornerstone of her Naturopathic approach, and she is committed to
finding the root cause of illness, not just treating symptoms.
While trained as a primary care physician, Dr. Siegel particularly enjoys
working with digestive disorders, anxiety, stress reduction, arthritis,
diabetes, pain management and women's health. She primarily utilizes
acupuncture, nutrition education, herbal medicine, soft tissue work and
lifestyle counseling. Combining the tools and wisdom from East and West, Dr.
Siegel offers truly holistic health care.
