Thursday, 10 June 2004 Drs. Nigh and Eckel published an editorial in the Oregonian about the flu. The text of that editorial is here. Another by them, on the topic of the FDA's ban of the herb ephedra, is here. In February '03, Dr. Nigh published an editorial piece on health care reform in The Portland Alliance. Dr. Nigh has written unpublished editorials on health-related topics, one on the issue of universal health care and one on health care reform. Dr. Nigh was quoted in an issue of Parenting Magazine (12/01), and was quoted extensively in a feature article in Clamor Magazine. You can read the full text of that article here. He has also written commentaries for a mailing list run by Znet. Those commentaries are on SARS, Compulsive Consumption, and the growing hysteria about contagion. The commentaries have been translated and reposted on both political and health-related web sites around the world. Finally, Dr. Nigh has been trying his hand at creative writing. Short stories of his have been published in the literary journals New Works Review (currently unavailable), Insolent Rudder, and a narrative essay is pulished at Word Riot. |
