High-sugar diet alters intestinal bacteria, making losing weight more difficult
A recent study has found that a diet high in sugar has the powerful effect of being able to throw the good bacterial colonies in the gut out of balance. Because this bacteria is essential for proper digestion and assimilation of nutrients, the entire body can become more susceptible to all sorts of diseases, including obesity.
